Last June I became the proud owner of an ice cream machine. After being hastily purchased on Gilt, I swore I would make ice cream everyday of the summer, in reality my ice cream machine had remained in the box until this past weekend. After months of neglecting my lovely new kitchen accessory, I finally put it to use.
On Saturday afternoon, Marc, our friend David and I all headed to the ferry building to pick up the ingredients for Olive Oil ice cream. After tasting olive oils, and picking up a few other ingredients like lavender shortbread cookies from miette, we headed home to make our delicious frozen treat. This has to be one of the most decadent and delicious deserts I have ever had. The recipe was adapted from here and it was seriously good eats. Have you tried olive oil ice cream? What do you think?
