Do You Speak Dim Sum?

This weekend Marc and I met up with Maria from The Art of Style San Francisco. After Marc provided some quick camera tips, we walked around China Town and took a few shots. After our little "hike" we headed to get some Dim Sum. I don't know about you, but I think Dim Sum could be one of the best foods ever. While I loved the food from the hole in the wall place we went, we could have been spared the sass when asking for 2 packets of soy sauce. :) Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Happy Wednesday!

Hello Spring, It's MSB Calling

Although it is just the end of January, I have started fantasizing about what I will be wearing once it is warm again. Since I live in San Francisco, those warm days might not come for a while, or at all for that matter, but hey a girl can dream, right? Somehow, with all of the spring clothes pouring into stores, and the sudden reappearance of the sun, I have been tricked into believing that spring is just around the corner. While I may not be sporting my new spring looks anytime soon, I do think there are a few pieces I could sneak into my wardrobe now. What are you craving for spring?

Black and Gold

Recently, OPI released the Serena Williams, Grand Slam collection. Two new colors will be introduced at the start of each of the following tournaments: French Open (May), Wimbledon (June) and the U.S. Open (August).

The first launch featured Simply Smashing, a sparkly gold, and BLACK SHATTER, a black which cracks when placed on top of dry lacquer. I LOVE the Black Shatter, it's like DIY nail art without any actual skill or labor. In honor of the collection's roots, Marc and I shot the nail polish with tennis themed props (we may have gone overboard). What do you think of the first release in the collection? Is Black Shatter a do or a don't?

Wild Thing

As I have mentioned before, I LOVE leopard print! After Christmas, I picked up this Loeffler Randall leopard coat at the Saks sale. I have been trying to wear this sucker every chance I get, and it has quickly become a strong staple in my wardrobe. The silk blend goes with everything, jeans, dresses, leggings, you name it. I decided to pair it with my "sweat pants" for a comfy casual look for my museum day-date with Marc. After fighting the crowds to see the Japanesque exhibit at the Legion of Honor, Marc and I decided to take some photos in the surrounding grounds. I was hoping my fancy leopard coat would bring out my animal instincts, no such luck, but at least the photos turned out good.

Resolution #1: Organize My Closet

For some time now, my closet has been in need of a MAJOR makeover. Since I have been avoiding this task for about 6 months, I figured I would get my butt in gear by making it one of my New Year's resolutions.

Living in San Francisco, I don't have a lot of space. My first step in this closet overhaul, was trolling the internet in search of small closets which could hold A LOT of clothing. After hours of searching, the best find was the "huggable hanger," a slim hanger, at just a 1/4" in width, which is said to double or even triple your space.

Being the skeptic I am, I thought these hangers were definitely a crock...BOY was I wrong. They changed my entire closet. A trip to the Container Store, a few stackable drawers and dividers later I had the closet of my dreams. OK, well maybe not the closet of my dreams per se, but at least the closet I can currently afford.

My closet, and Marc, are currently thanking me for sticking to my resolutions. My closet is loving its new organized self, and Marc is happy he is no longer tripping over all of my shoes.

Everything Good Comes to an End

2010 ended with bang; time spent with friends, LOTS and LOTS of champagne and wine in Napa, a ridiculous New Years dinner which ended up being free and a fabulous party to ring in 2011! This weekend was adventurous to say the least, but it was the perfect start to January. Resolutions were made and new beginnings are upon us. What do you hope to accomplish this year?
