Hi everyone,

I wanted to write you all a note to let you know I have taken a pause from the blog. This in no way means that I am no longer going to be blogging, but for the time being I am taking a brief hiatus. It has been an incredibly busy and exciting few months and I cant wait to share all of the exciting new adventures Marc and I will embark on in the New Year.

Thank you for following along with us, we will be back soon. In the meantime have a happy and healthy holiday season and a wonderful New Year!

You're Invited!

Image via Poshmark
Every season I do a nice big closet clean out and get my wardrobe in tip top shape. This fall has been a bit busier than usual and I just haven't had the chance to get things orderly. So when Poshmark asked me to host the Posh Party Downtown Chic I immediately said yes. What better way to clean out my wardrobe, and refill it at the same time?

Tomorrow night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. you can join the posh party and peruse all the amazing finds you can get on Poshmark!

If you don't already have Poshmark joinging is easy...

1. Download the Poshmark iphone app here (it's free!):
2. Collect items in your wardrobe that you love, but for whatever reason are not getting enough 'wear time' from you.
3. Open the app at 7pm PST this Monday October 8

4. Sell your loved, but hardly worn treasures and shop others

Hope to see you all there!

Fall Lust with Harrods

Dress, Scarf & Purse: Mulberry, Shoes: Kurt Geiger,  Jacket: Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Ring: YSL, Polish: Tom Ford
With September in full swing, I have been making a little wish list of new fall goodies.  I am in desperate need of a few statement pieces as well as some good basics.  I always love a print, but all the moody reds, purples and grays have really grabbed my attention.

When we were in London last month I unfortunately didn’t have enough time to get in my regular pre-fall shopping. As disappointing as it was, I was lucky to find out that one of my favorite British shopping spots, Harrods, now ships internationally!  With a fantastic selection of British designers and lots of fun interactive features like the online magazine I literally spent hours perusing the site.

After some major inspiration found amongst the pages of The Review I curated a little Harrods wish list of my own. Shipping is a bit pricey, but it is in line with other major British department stores like Liberty and Selfridges.  I think I may need to pick up a few fall staples very soon from as they seem to have exactly what I am craving.

Little Black Dress

LBD: Sandro, Shoes: Loeffler Randall (old), Jewelry: Gilt (old)
I've never been one to sing the praises of the perfect LBD. Maybe it's that I never found one that is "universal" enough to be worn for every occasion, it just never struck me as something I actually needed in my wardrobe. However, back in March I was frantically looking for a new dress to wear to the countless weddings I had coming up. During my search I stumbled upon a seemingly simple, yet elegant number by one of my favorite French labels: Sandro. I quickly fell in love with the sleek cut, exposed zipper and lady like peplum and made that dress mine.

After my first wedding of the season I hung the little black dress back up in my closet to be preserved until the next wedding adventure -- little did I know I would reach for it so quickly. A few weeks later I needed a dress for a few meetings and out came the LBD paired with a few new accessories. Three weeks after that I needed a dress for date night and out came the dress, and even after that I was looking for a weekend frock with a bit more tailoring and out came the dress AGAIN! I couldn't believe how many times I had worn that same damn dress. I finally understood what all the hype was about, the opportunities were ENDLESS with this LBD. I have never owned a piece of clothing that I really felt was so perfect for every occasion and yet the LBD is just that. How do you feel about this timeless classic? Is it a "do" in your wardrobe?

Runway Nails: Bottega Veneta F/W 2012

Dress image via Vogue
I've been lacking some inspiration with my nails lately and decided to take a page out of some of my favorite nail bloggers books and look to the runways for a little help. While paging through many a September issue I kept coming across a Bottega Veneta ad with this gorgeous pink and black dress. After seeing this ad in at least 4 magazines, I decided it was my next nail DIY. Check out the quick tutorial below. What runway looks are inspiring you?
Choose color palette. Paint Nails base color.
Once base color is dry, paint accent color over nail. While nail is wet, use plastic wrap to give nail a ink blot effect by dapping over wet polish.
Dot second accent color on nail and re-blot with plastic wrap to blend.
Add glitter to second accent color. Paint tip of each nail with black glitter polish to mimic the jeweled neckline of the dress.

Paris je t'aime

As some of you may know, Paris is my all-time favorite city. There is just something about the city of love that sets my heart a flutter. It could be the beautiful architecture, the amazing shopping or the twinkling Eiffel Tower, but every time I visit Paris I feel like I am living in a dream. During our vacation Marc and I were lucky enough to spend a few days visiting the city I used to call home (5 years ago I lived and studied in Paris for about a year). From shopping in the Marais to visiting the Tuilerie Gardens and making daily stops at Laduree I truly felt like I had died and gone to heaven. What city do you dream of?

Afternoon Tea

As those of you who follow me on Instagram may know, Marc and I have spent the past few weeks on vacation. After a few days in London we ventured to Paris, then rounded out our trip in Barcelona. I'm definitely a more city type of vacationer and this trip did not disappoint. As tradition always calls for I MUST go to tea every time I'm in London. Last year we went to the Berkley which I loved, but this year we chose Sketch. The lovely decor and delicious treats are what I expect from tea, and the quirky pod bathrooms were just as I remembered -- bizarre yet awesome.
