Hot Pink + Ombre DIY

This weekend I opted for a little neon nail art. Since I couldn't decide on a color I went for a hot pink ombre. Ombre is actually one of the easiest nail arts I have done, all you need is a light base color, a few accent shades and a cosmetic sponge.
Step 1: Paint nails with a light colored base. I opted for OPI Alpine Snow.
Choose 3 accent colors, from left to right OPI Miami Beet, Ate Berries in the Canaries, Elephantastic Pink
Paint colors from dark to light in a row on a paper plate and blend where colors meet.
Dip sponge onto polish and then onto nail. Repeat until color reaches opacity desired.
Clean up edges with nail polish remover and paint 2 coats of clear to help smooth texture and add shine.
OMBRE nails.

Rosé

Tops: Topshop, Pants J. Brand, Shoes: Sperry Topsider, Sunnies: Prada, Bracelets: DIY see here, Dannijo, Madewell, David Yurman, AE, Rings: David Yurman and Dara Ettinger, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
This weekend we headed to wine country. We walked around cute little shops in St. Helena, ate lunch at the delicious Fremont Diner and stopped by my favorite winery, Frog's Leap, for a tasting.

There is something I love about lounging around on a warm afternoon drinking rosé with friends and feeling completely carefree. Rosé is honestly my summer beverage of choice, it just makes me feel giddy, also its pink so what's not to love. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Subconciously channeling Honestly WTF :) Saw this photo on pinterest when I got home that day!
Drinking my GUS (Grown Up Soda) through a straw, naturally.

DIY Tangram Nails

This weekend I was looking for some nailspiration and tangram puzzles came to mind. You know the Chinese geometric puzzles where you make shapes with all 7 pieces? While those puzzles can be tricky this nail art DIY is very easy. Check out the steps below.

Tropical Bird

Jacket: H&M (old), Top: Equipment, Pants: Topshop, Shoes: Loeffler Randall, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Necklace: Dannijo, Bracelets: Dannijo +Aqua, Ring: Kenneth Jay Lane
A few months ago I picked up these floral pants from Topshop. I had been dying to wear them, but with all the cold weather I just couldn't seem to figure out how to style them. With the brief heatwave we had this weekend, I took advantage and finally got to sport my tropical pants. Too bad they'll have to go back into hibernation until the sun decides to return. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Nail 911

From time to time my nails go from looking like this....

To looking like this: short, peeling, ragged and brittle.
It usually starts with picking at my nails out of stress. Once one has been damaged, there is no hope left for the rest. Due to my OCD tendencies for everything to be uniform, I suddenly have to pick at all of my nails so they match.

So, if you're like me and occasionally destroy your lovely tips, or just have naturally weak nails, here's how I get my nails back in order.
  1. Cuticle Treatment: I recently picked up this Essie cuticle treatment, smooth trick, it is perfect for deep conditioning and rich in Vitamin E and Argan Oil. Not only does it soften my callused and peely cuticles it also smooths my nails.
  2. Nail Strengthener: Essie's Grow Stronger base coat is great for soft and weak nails. It is the perfect base coat for when your nails need a little extra TLC.
  3. Hand Cream: So your hands don't suffer the same fate as your nails, always moisturize with rich hand cream. My pick is the Melvita Apicosma hand cream with 3-honey complex clinically proven to treat dry and chapped hands.
  4. New Manicure: And lastly, the most important thing, a fresh manicure. Try and choose a manicure you're very excited by, that way you wont attack your nails if you get a bit stressed.
Inglot Polish: 610, Ozotic Glitter: 530, Gold Striping Tape. Inspiration Pshiiit. :)

Red, White and Stripes

Dress: French Connection, Shirt: Madewell, Jacket: Rebecca Taylor, Shoes: Comptoirs des Cotonniers, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Rings: David Yurman and Dara Ettinger (similar here)
The weather in San Francisco has been all over the place, from pouring to sunny it just can't choose which season it is. This weekend called for easy pieces that could be layered just in case the cold chill came rolling in. I'm loving this striped t-shirt dress I picked up at Bloomingdale's a few weeks ago. It easily fits into my "between season" wardrobe and will be perfect once summer rolls around. What summer pieces are you sneaking into your wardrobe a bit early?
